Wellesley Health Department
To support transportation for low-income residents; specifically, for children who received scholarships from Wellesley Friendly Aid to attend summer camps, and for low-income individuals and families in need of transportation to social service agencies, court, and other locations

World of Wellesley
To support a hands-on multicultural festival whereby K-5 students and their parents will showcase, highlight, and celebrate world cultures represented throughout the Town of Wellesley

2017 Grantees

We are pleased to announce that The Fund for Wellesley awarded more than $30,000 to seven local nonprofit organizations on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Babson College. 

WELLESLEY SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
WSF solicits and receives gifts from individuals and organizations to recognize and support academic pursuits through the award of scholarships to residents of the Town of Wellesley. 

To support the development of an online Town Common Scholarship and Financial Aid Application.

WELLESLEY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
The Town’s IT Department promotes, maintains, and supports software and hardware technologies that create substantial efficiencies for all Town Departments in their efforts to serve residents.

To support adding Texthelp’s Browsealoud service—which helps make websites more accessible with easy speech, reading, and translation tools—to the Town’s website.

WELLESLEY RECREATION DEPARTMENT
The mission of the Recreation Department is to provide recreational and educational opportunities to all Town residents.

To support the Town's first-ever Family Campout, at which families can come together to enjoy an eco-friendly evening of games, a camp fire, and a variety of educational experiences. 

SPECIAL OLYMPICS MASSACHUSETTS
SOMA provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, prepare for entry into school and community programs, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

To support Wellesley High School’s Unified Champion School track program, bringing students with and without intellectual/developmental disabilities together.

WELLESLEY CHORAL SOCIETY
The mission of the Wellesley Choral Society is to study and perform the world's great choral music, both sacred and secular.

To enhance the social engagement of seniors through attendance at and participation in the Society’s concerts (funded through the Al Robinson Fund for the Arts).

OUT METROWEST
OUT MetroWest enriches the LGBTQ community in MetroWest Boston and beyond through programming, education, and advocacy.

To support the Wellesley meetings of the Umbrella program, which provide a safe space for teens to connect with transgender and gender non-conforming peers and adult mentors.

WELLESLEY FRIENDLY AID
Wellesley Friendly Aid Association is a community-based, non-profit organization that works to improve the well-being and quality of life for Wellesley residents.

To support Wellesley Connects, an all-volunteer college mentoring program, in its second year at Wellesley High School.
