Who We Are

The mission of the Fund for Wellesley is to promote the common good and to benefit all residents of our town. We serve as a permanent source of funding to foster innovation and collaboration in support of community needs and opportunities.

The Fund for Wellesley was established in 2008 in celebration of Wellesley’s 125th birthday. A dedicated group of town residents had a vision to create a fund that would exist to benefit members of the Wellesley community for generations to come. Over the past 10 years, we have made grants of approximately $400,000 to more than 30 local non-profits and Wellesley town departments.

Please note: The Fund for Wellesley is not running a Competitive Grant Program in 2019. We are working on a strategy and process for our grantmaking in 2020 and will provide updates as available. 

Community Board

The Fund for Wellesley’s Board is comprised of individuals who reside or work in Wellesley and who represent the diverse aspects of the community. This allows the Fund to maintain a broad perspective on the town’s needs and opportunities. The Community Board is also responsible for reviewing and assessing grant proposals from local nonprofits to determine which will receive funding support.

Louis is the President of Wellesley Investment Partners, an investment advisory firm providing broad-based investment and wealth management services to individual and institutional clients. Wellesley Investment Partners is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wellesley Bank. He was formerly a Senior Managing Director at Windhaven Investment Management and Vice President in the Wealth Management division of Goldman Sachs & Co. Louis has authored/edited several books, most recently Selling Your Business: The Transition from Entrepreneur to Investor (Wiley, 2004). He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College, a Master of Education from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth. He lives in Wellesley, MA with his wife and two children, and is an avid skier and tennis player.

Liz and her husband Chris moved to Wellesley in 1994. Here they have raised their children, Lily and Christopher, who graduated from Wellesley High School in 2007 and 2011, respectively. Liz is a practicing radiologist at Atrius Health in Boston. Liz's training has included Albany Medical, Tufts Medical Center and Deaconess Medical Center. Liz's volunteer efforts to date have largely focused on The Pine Street Inn and have included Greater Boston Food Bank and ESL tutoring at the Newton Public Library. Currently volunteers at the town senior center.

Jamie moved to Wellesley in 2010 with his wife Teri and their rescue dog Ginger and welcomed son Luke to the family in 2012 and daughter Vivian in 2015. He is the Founder and CEO of Ebersole Financial LLC, a Registered Investment Advisory firm based in Wellesley. He previously worked for several large asset management firms in New York, Boston, San Francisco and Munich before starting his own business in Wellesley. He is actively involved with Rosie's Place as a member of the Audit and Finance committee. Jamie previously served as a Wellesley Town Meeting Member for Precinct E. Jamie earned both a Bachelors and Masters degree from Tufts University, an MBA from The Red McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in Santiago, Chile. He is both a CFA Charterholder and a Certified Financial Planner(TM). Jamie joined the Community Board in 2015 and currently serves as Chair of the Board. Jamie previously served as Chair of the Grants Committee.

Wendy and her family have lived in Wellesley since 2001. After years of work in health care and outcomes research administration, Wendy’s focus upon moving to Wellesley from Los Angeles has been in supporting her community and non-profit organizations. Wendy has served as President of the PTOs at PAWS and Bates Schools, on the Executive Board of the Central Council of PTOs and Treasurer and President of Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club. Most recently, Wendy completed six years (2011-2017) on the Wellesley School Committee, serving as Vice Chair three years and liaison to the Permanent Building Committee for the Fiske & Schofield renovation and School Security projects. Wendy has been a Town Meeting Member since 2011, is a Board Member at the Walker School in Needham, focusing on capital projects, and serves on the Security Task Force at Temple Beth Elohim. With her husband, Jim, she enjoys being the parent of and trying to keep up with two busy Wellesley High School students.

Maura has been the Youth Director for the Wellesley Youth Commission since 2003. She has been a resident of Wellesley since 2003, a Town Meeting Member, serves as the Chair for the Wellesley Housing Authority and a member of the Community Board since 2013.

Lesley attended both preschool and college in Wellesley. She lived in Washington, DC and New York before moving back to Wellesley in 1998 with her family. Lesley is currently the Director of Alumnae Engagement Programs at the Wellesley College Alumnae Association. She has served on the boards of several community nonprofits and has been the chair of the board of the Wellesley Youth Commission since 2009. A member of the Community Board since 2014, Lesley served as a Vice-Chair in 2015-16.

Tanya and her family have been residents of Wellesley for 19 years. She enjoyed a long career at Fidelity Investments where she served in various analytical and money management roles. Tanya is a board member of the Wellesley Students’ Aid Society, where she also serves as Treasurer. In this role, she oversees a $35 million endowment which is dedicated to providing financial and other assistance to Wellesley College students. Tanya is involved with the League of Women Voters of MA as a Legislative Specialist and is a board member of LWV of Wellesley. She also tutors through the Wellesley ESL program. Tanya earned a B.A. from Wellesley College and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. She and her husband have a daughter in college in California and a son in his senior year at Wellesley High School. Tanya joined the Community Board in 2018.

Eugene “Tripp” Sheehan is a former member and Vice-Chair of the Recreation Commission and a former board member of the Wellesley Youth Basketball Association. He also served as Chair of the town’s Playing Fields Task Force (PFTF) where he worked with representatives from a broad range of town boards and community members to lead the renovation of the Wellesley High School track and field. Tripp continues to serve as a member of the PFTF as a community representative. Professionally, Tripp leads the U.S. Financial Institutions practice for insurance broker Marsh. Tripp is married and has two school-aged sons.

Mason moved to Wellesley with her husband and two children in 2005. After 25 years at the investment firm Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo (GMO) in client relationship management, Mason took a break from working full time and has focused her attention on getting involved in the community and non-profit work. She currently is a member of the Community Preservation Committee and serves on the Advisory Board for Mass General Hospital for Children, The Wellesley Education Foundation board and the investment committee of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. In addition, Mason is the Treasurer of the Congenital Hyperinsulinism International board (a small global healthcare non-profit). Mason has been a member of the Community Board since 2013.

Mike has lived in Wellesley since 2014 with his wife, Hadley, and their two sons. He is an Investment Counselor at Eaton Vance, where he helps successful families and institutions reach their financial goals. He has also spent time involved in a number of other business ventures including restaurants, private equity, and consulting. Mike is currently on the board of Haggle, inc., a New York City based startup focused on outsourced innovation. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association and is an alumnus of Columbia University. Mike joined the Community Board in 2016.

Susan moved to Wellesley in 2015 with her husband, Sam, after raising their family in Houston, Texas. Susan worked as a marketing consultant until their children were born. Then she turned her efforts to volunteer work, dedicating most of her time to her children’s schools and activities. Susan holds a BBA in Finance and an MBA in Marketing, both from the University of Texas at Austin. She recently served on the Spring Inspiration Breakfast Committee for the Foundation for MetroWest.

Andrea moved to Wellesley in 2001 with her husband, a Wellesley native, and her two daughters. A former appellate attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice and a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun, Andrea put her law practice on hold and became involved in a variety of community organizations. She served on the boards of both the Upham PTO and the Wellesley Service League and was a member of the Grants Distribution Committee for the Foundation for MetroWest. She is presently a member of and Secretary for the Town of Wellesley’s Advisory Committee. Andrea was appointed to the Community Board in 2013.
