8th Annual Community Leadership Breakfast

Connecting local business and local needs for a stronger MetroWest

Friday, October 25, 2019, 7:30 to 9:30 AM

Boston Marriott Newton, 2345 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton

The 8th Annual Community Leadership Breakfast will provide an opportunity to engage 350 corporate decision makers and civic leaders in conversation, and will highlight the Foundation’s work to make MetroWest a stronger, more sustainable community. The event is designed to explore how companies incorporate corporate and community philanthropy into their business models. Our region is home to thriving businesses, and we recognize that giving back to our local community is an essential part of a conscientious and successful business model.

Woolsey S. Conover, Foundation for MetroWest Trustee Emeriti and Founder Trustee
Woolsey S. ConoverWoolsey was a founding Trustee of the Foundation for MetroWest and was Chair of the Board from 1995-2000. He considers the work he did to help establish the Foundation among his most satisfactory, important, and long lasting achievements. Woolsey has always viewed his role less as “Founder” and more of “Convener”, the gathering together of a highly talented group of likeminded people. He was a Founder and Principal of Consolidated Group Trust in Framingham, an employee benefits administration company with over 800 employees at the time of its sale. Woolsey is a former Director and Board Chair of both the MetroWest YMCA and Chamber of Commerce, a Trustee of the Danforth Museum of Art and the Rivers School, a Director of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education, Chair of the Board of Governors for the Copley (Art) Society of Boston and a Director of the Appalachian Mountain Club. Since moving to Holderness, NH with Bea, his wife of 59 years, he has held governing roles with NH Public Radio, the Lakes Region Conservation Trust, the Museum of the White Mountains and advisory roles with numerous other non-profit organizations. In essence, Woolsey has made service to his fellow citizens and their institutions an integral part of his life wherever he has lived.
