Spirit of Philanthropy Awards

On Monday, May 10th, more than 70 people came together to honor the wonderful work of our retiring trustees, as well as the recipient of the Woolsey Conover Award.
We heard Judy talk about some of the Foundation’s successes these years – from our name change and distributing $600,000 in grants to our work convening groups in MetroWest to launch the COMPASS Community College Collaborative. We then were able to hear about the impact that our outgoing Board Chair Kenneth Vacovec has had on the Foundation over the past six years.
Rich Davison, a founding trustee honored the work of our founder and recently announced Trustee Emeritus – Woolsey Conover – who will be leaving the board, 15 years after founding the Foundation.
We ended the night honoring John Connors, a local philanthropist who founded SmallCanBeBig.org. His work using social media and the web to provide a safety net to families at risk of becoming homeless is truly inspiring.
