Foundation for MetroWest Distributes $55K to Food Pantries Throughout MetroWest

Foundation for MetroWest announced today that it has distributed $55,000 in grants to 37 food pantries throughout the MetroWest region. The grants were awarded from the Foundation’s English Family Fund and Herbert and Esther Atkinson Fund. These grants help to provide needed winter assistance to MetroWest families.

“Food pantries and service organizations from around Massachusetts continue to face unprecedented challenges,” said Judith Salerno, executive director of Foundation for MetroWest. “The MetroWest region is no different and we are proud that we have been able to support area food pantries as they work to fulfill the growing number of requests by families to help put a balanced meal on their tables.”

The grants awarded are:

  • Ashland Emergency Fund, Ashland, $2,000.00
  • Concord Open Table, Concord, $2,500.00
  • Dedham Food Pantry, Dedham, $1,000.00
  • Curtis Family Diner, Framingham, $1,000.00

  • St. Bridget's Food Pantry, Framingham, $3,500.00
  • Lucy & Joe's Food Pantry for Frail Elders, Framingham, $1,000.00
  • Holliston Pantry Shelf, Holliston, $1,000.00
  • Project Just Because, Hopkinton, $2,000.00
  • Hudson Community Food Pantry, Hudson, $3,000.00
  • Lexington Interfaith Food Pantry, Lexington, $500.00

Foundation for MetroWest recently announced more than $160K in grants to family support, environmental, and arts organizations throughout MetroWest. In 2011 the Foundation for MetroWest distributed approximately $600K throughout the region and has distributed more than $6.5 M since its inception in 1995.
