Foundation for MetroWest announced today that it has awarded grants totaling $162,000 to twenty-six organizations throughout the MetroWest region as part of their 2011 grant cycle. Grants will be distributed to recipients at an event being held today at 4pm at Mass Audubon’s Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, MA.

The 2011 distributions were focused on three key service areas – Arts & Culture, Family Support, and Environmental. Recipients of this year’s grants will be using the funding to support a variety of activities including food and housing assistance, watershed restoration, at-risk youth support, and improving arts access. (A full list of recipients is included below.)

“The MetroWest is defined by the strength of the organizations working tirelessly to improve the quality of life in communities throughout the region,” said Judith Salerno, executive director of Foundation for MetroWest. “Each year we are incredibly moved by the aspiration of these organizations to serve their communities and we are proud to be able to support them in a small, but meaningful way.”

In 2011 the Foundation for MetroWest distributed nearly $600K throughout the region and has distributed more than $6.5M since its inception in 1995. For more information please visit us online at http://www.FoundationforMetroWest.org.
