Professional Advisor Committee

The Professional Advisor Committee provides knowledgeable advice and recommendations to Foundation for MetroWest staff in their efforts to establish, develop and maintain relationships within the Boston and MetroWest advisor community.

Robert DiGiovanni is a Senior Vice President and Regional Manager in the Retail Banking division at Eastern Bank. He oversees 15 of Eastern’s branches in the Boston area. During his career at Eastern Bank, Bob has served in several other positions including Group Head of Indirect Lending, Portfolio Manager in Commercial Banking, and Small Business Sales Manager.

Bob has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Eastern Bank in 1996, he served as Credit and Collections Supervisor at Toyota Motor Credit from 1990-1996.

Bob received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1988. Bob is a proud recipient of the Jefferson Cup presented by Consumer Banking Association for excellence demonstrated during the completion of its study program at the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management.

Bob resides in Reading where he lives with his wife, Donna, and their two children, Thomas (17) and Julia (16).

Rick works for BNY Mellon as a Senior Director at the firm. As a veteran of twenty-five years in the financial services business, Rick works closely with individual investors and families and advises them regarding their strategic asset allocation, estate planning, charitable giving and retirement concerns.

Rick is a senior member of BNY Mellon’s Wealth Management Council. He is a two-time recipient of the BNY Mellon’s Chairman’s Circle Award, given annually for distinguished achievement.

He has been an active member of both the national and regional New England Chapter of the Family Firm Institute, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the issues confronting multi-generation family-controlled enterprises. In 2007, he was a founding management committee member of the first “Massachusetts Family Business Award.” This award is given annually to financially successful, multi-generational, Massachusetts businesses that also take a leadership role in the growth and welfare of their communities.

Rick is a 1981 graduate of Amherst College. He lives in Lexington with his wife Leslie.

Tiffany is a principal of O'Connell & Byrne LLC, a boutique estate planning law firm with offices in Needham and Cambridge, Massachusetts. She focuses her practice on estate planning, trust and probate administration, Medicaid planning, business succession planning, and retirement and wealth strategies.

She opened her own law firm, O’Connell Gillis LLC, in 2010 and then merged her practice with Eckert Byrne LLC in 2011, forming O’Connell & Byrne LLC. Prior to having her own law practice, Tiffany was an attorney with the Family Estate Planning Law Group. She joined the firm in 2007 following an active-duty tour in the Army’s Judge Advocate General Corp at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where she served for 1 ½ years as Soldier's Counsel for disabled solders. Prior to her active-duty tour, Tiffany worked for many years in the insurance industry, both in-house as well as with an insurance defense law firm.

Tiffany received her J.D. from New England School of Law in 1994. She received her Bachelor's degree in English from Boston College in 1991. Tiffany earned her LLM in Taxation at Boston University Law School in 2011. She is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Tiffany is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, including its Probate Law and Property Law Sections, New Hampshire Bar Association, Boston Estate Planning Council, and Wealth Counsel LLC.

Julia K. O’Neill is an attorney at Feinberg Hanson LLP. She has been practicing business, corporate and securities law since 1985. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity financings and general corporate and business matters. Julia has published a multitude of books and articles on business and the law. She earned her J.D, cum laude, at Boston College Law School and her B.A. in Economics at Yale University.

Julia is a resident of Natick with two grown sons.

John is a certified financial planner and estate planner with over 15 years experience. He is a member of our Board of Trustees, and owns Wealth Planning Resources.

Ken is an attorney and founding partner at Vacovec, Mayotte & Singer in Newton, specializing in tax planning, estate planning, and tax compliance. He has served on the boards of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc., and is the former Board Chair of the Foundation for MetroWest.

David L. Yas is a Vice President and Financial Advisor in Bernstein Global Wealth Management’s Boston office, responsible for advising high-net-worth families and institutions, as well as their respective trusts, estates, foundations, endowments and pension plans. Prior to joining the firm in 2010, he was the publisher of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, which he guided to an all-time high in paid circulation and profits; earlier, he was an associate at Ruberto, Israel & Weiner. Yas earned a BA in communications from the University of Pennsylvania and a JD from Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and has been a frequent speaker, mentor and moot court judge at Boston University Law School. In addition, he has been a contributor providing legal commentary for a wide range of media outlets, including CNN, CNBC, NPR Radio and the Boston Globe. Yas was named Best Humor Columnist by the New England Press Association in 2008. He serves on the boards of the New England Center for Children, City Year, Milton Academy and the American Heart Association.
