Judy has served as Executive Director since September 2007 and is responsible for executive management of the foundation. In June 2005 she joined the Board of Trustees and was appointed interim co-executive director with Kathan Tracy in December of that year. Prior to joining the board, Judy was a member of the Distribution Committee and the Youth in Philanthropy Advisory Committee. She brings over 20 years of management experience in both large and small growth-oriented businesses. Most recently she served as founder, president and chief operating officer at Stream International, a $200M outsourcing provider of technical services. Originally from Sudbury, Judy resides in Wellesley with her husband and two children.
Amy Axelrod is the development officer at the Foundation for MetroWest responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the professional advisor community. Amy practiced law as a litigator for nine years at small Boston law firm. She holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law. She has been involved in many civic volunteer activities, including serving as the Chair of the Wellesley College Alumnae Achievement Awards Committee and as a member of the Town of Wellesley Advisory Committee. Currently, Amy is an elected Town Meeting Member and a member of the Community Board of the Fund for Wellesley, an endowed fund of the Foundation for MetroWest. A native of New Orleans, she lives in Wellesley with her husband and two children.
Debbie is responsible for understanding the needs of non-profit organizations in the MetroWest area and ensuring that the Foundation is known, understood, and valued in the community. Joining us in May 2011, she brings over 20 years experience in IT service marketing and internal consulting to her position. She volunteered her marketing expertise to several non-profit organizations over the last year, including United Planet, the Newton Community Service Center, and the MetroWest Free Medical Program. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Debbie received her MBA in Marketing and Finance from Boston University, and MS in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota. She and her husband live in Arlington.
Mary joined us in May 2008, having previously run her own business as a professional organizer and time management coach. Her role involves database management, fundholder correspondence, accounts payable and coordination of the grant programs, as well as numerous other tasks at our offices. Mary’s prior experience includes banking and college administration; she holds a B.A. in art history from Smith College. Originally from Framingham, Mary now resides in Wellesley, has four children, and is a life member of the Jane Austen Society of North America.
Renée is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships between the Foundation and current and future donors for the purposes of accomplishing donors’ philanthropic objectives, and growing the Foundation. Renée joined us in February of 2010 after spending many years as a volunteer helping various non-profit organizations. She lives in Wellesley with her husband and four sons.
Cori joined us in August 2010. Prior to working with Foundation for MetroWest, Cori spent two years working for a federally funded grant at Boston Medical Center addressing the populations’ risky substance use. She then interned at Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange in public relations and fundraising. Cori received a Masters of Science in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University, and holds a Bachelors of Science in Family and Community Services and Spanish from the University of Delaware. She currently resides in Boston.
Jennifer came to us in 2005 and manages the Youth in Philanthropy program, which educates high school students in the MetroWest area about community needs and effective charitable giving. She previously worked with Newton Public Schools as a grants administrator and instructor, where she trained a student-run youth council focused on philanthropy and grantmaking. Jennifer’s professional background includes work at Boston University’s Community Service Center and development experience at the Winsor School in Boston. A graduate of Hamilton College, she has Master’s degrees in both social work and education from Boston University. Jennifer lives in Maynard with her husband and two children.
