Youth in Philanthropy

The Foundation for MetroWest’s Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) program is one of the largest youth philanthropy education programs in the country. We believe that if you teach youth to give, you empower them to change the world.

YIP programs are offered throughout MetroWest at the following site locations. If you do not see your particular town listed, we invite you to apply to either our Sudbury or Natick locations.

In celebration of the 20 year anniversary of the Youth in Philanthropy program, we’re launching a new initiative called the Family Giving Circle.

This innovative new program uses a unique, hybrid approach that enables parents and students to learn about philanthropy together to make a difference in their community. A giving circle is formed when individuals come together and pool their dollars, decide together where to give the money (and other resources such as volunteer time), and learn together about their community and philanthropy.

The Family Giving Circle teaches students to make impactful, strategic decisions about giving while encouraging conversations around the dinner table on the importance of philanthropic work, giving back and facilitating positive change.

Through a unique real-world approach, YIP provides local youth the knowledge to become leaders in our community by learning the importance of philanthropy and the needs that exist in our backyard. The program continues to grow thanks to our generous donors and sponsors.
